The spring VSBA meeting is being held in Chesapeake, Virginia, hosted by the Beekeepers Guild of Southeast Virginia. Speakers include Dennis Van Engelsdorp, Wyatt Mangum, Dr. Troy Anderson and Dr. Buddy Marterre. There will also be workshops Saturday afternoon, including one on Queen Rearing. A program agenda will be posted shortly.

June Meeting - Donation Request

The Mid-Atlantic Apiculture and Research Extension Consortium (MAAREC) has a full spectrum of stakeholders in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia working to provide material to the beekeeping community (please see the MAAREC website for additional information). MAAREC is a reputable source for factual beekeeping information, and their website receives over 23,000 users annually.

Dr. Debbie Delaney of the University of Delaware has submitted funding requests to MAAREC stakeholders, including VSBA, asking for financial support to improve and continue the website. VSBA’s portion of the website funding is $1870. This request will be presented to the VSBA membership at the upcoming June meeting.
