We are pleased to announce an exceptional educational opportunity for top-bar beekeepers and want-a-bees to learn from Les Crowder, author of "Top-Bar Beekeeping" a book on organic practices for honeybee health, natural hive management for honey, beeswax, and pollination.

This short biography was provided by Les Crowder:

"40 + years ago I became a teenage beekeeper. I got a degree in biology and spent most of my adult life with honeybees and beekeepers. I thought I began keeping bees but actually they began keeping me. I began spending many hours many days for many years with a bee veil on trying to figure out how to best “keep” them. I wanted to be involved in their affairs, to understand how they worked as bees on their own, naturally. I worked for a commercial beekeeper with 4,000 hives, I was an apiary inspector with the Dept. of Ag. I was a leader in the New Mexico Beekeepers Association. I wrote a book, “Top-Bar Beekeeping” that sells all over the world.

I began teaching beekeeping in the early 80s. I quickly realized that the best part of a beekeeping class was the hands on part, with bee veils on in bee hives. I love teaching. I am good at helping people understand how to lose their fear of bees but keep their awe and respect for them I have taught for the last 30+ years.
I am now ready and look forward to get back into teaching. If you have or can get a small to large group of beekeepers together that wants to begin beekeeping or advance into raising your own bees and rearing queens email me. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. I specialize in how to keep bees with minimal expense, I can help with any kind of beehive and prefer topbar hives. I emphasize keeping bees without toxic “treatments”. We will learn to keep bees in ways that help them stay healthy naturally. I teach how to recognize problems and solve them naturally so the troubled hive (mites, disease, queen problems) doesn’t spread its problems to other bee hives. I will begin filming a series of videos soon. If we can figure out the logistics I can travel to any location in the world to help people keep bees naturally. I look forward to meeting your group. The only way we are going to rise is if we all rise together! Les"
