Commonwealth Queen Bee Throw Down is on!

The Queen Bee Throw Down is now underway! Entries must be submitted by end of the day May 20th , World Bee Day. Once entries to the competition are reviewed, they will be posted on the VSBA website beginning May 27th for online voting to determine the best queen to represent each VSBA region.Regional winners will enter a semi-weekly head-to-head competition beginning June 20th to determine the best of the best. The ultimate winner of these regional pairings will be crowned Queen of the Commonwealth on August 20th, National Honey Bee Day.

If you think your queen is the prettiest, most productive, best-behaved

queen in the state you won’t want to miss this opportunity to

prove it – and take-home bragging rights as well as a few queen

vouchers as a prize. Spread the word. Chat it up at the next

beekeeper meeting. Get your cell phones ready to grab a picture

of the next Queen of the Commonwealth. Enter the Great Virginia
